Meet Hassan

Hassan has dedicated his adult life to work as an advocate - the kind of advocate he’ll be for our region as our next representative in the House of Delegates.

Hassan focuses his practice in matters of immigration, citizenship, and asylum law. He founded his law practice on the belief that effective advocacy is foundational to ensuring the opportunities for a peaceful and prosperous life. From that experience, Hassan’s focus on advocacy for our region in Richmond was forged.

Then two years ago, at Dulles Airport, everything changed. Hassan knew more had to be done.

He was there at Dulles as an immigration attorney. And the newly-elected Trump Administration had just issued the Executive Order that came to be known as the Muslim Ban.

When I arrived that night at the airport, I saw Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, and secularists – whether directly impacted by the ban or not – standing together as one people united in affirming the values of our country. They stood up for a community targeted unjustly. Those were the real heroes. That was the moment when I decided I had to do more. I arrived at the airport that night as an immigration attorney, but I left as an advocate.

In Richmond, Hassan will fight for the Virginia that we all want to believe in, one that upholds our shared values as Americans where we show up for one another and where we preserve each other's dignity without regard to race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, or status - a Virginia that welcomes and works for everyone.
